Housing
CMHA Haldimand-Norfolk Branch has been providing affordable housing to low-income individuals since 1988. All units are designated as 'affordable', meaning the monthly rent is geared to the tenant's income.
New for 2008 are Transitional Beds - which are intended to allow residents temporary housing while they proceed on a gradual transition to independent living. To qualify for our Transitional Beds, individuals must be involved with our case management services. For more information please view or print this FACT SHEET.
Unfortunately, there is a waiting list for our permanent housing.
In addition to our [REFERRAL FORM], applicants for our housing need to:
- Complete a Haldimand and Norfolk County Social [HOUSING APPLICATION] (also available at our office)
- Provide a Birth Certificate, tax return assessment, and a monthly income statement
- Attain a written physician's verification of diagnosis of a serious and persistent mental illness
Case management support is available to all tenants. Help with completing the application is available - just give us a call.
Effective January 2012, CMHA has a Board approved "Accessible Client Service Plan". See the Plan.
